Download Chartwell for Mac.
The installer is signed, notarized and stapled for Apple silicon Macs. Download the DMG, open it and drag Chartwell into Applications.
Requirements
- Mac
- Apple silicon—an M1, M2, M3, M4 or later Apple chip. Intel Macs are not supported by this release.
- macOS
- macOS 13 Ventura or newer.
- Disk space
- The download is 709 MB and the installed app is about 1.5 GB. Keep at least 3 GB free while installing.
- Internet
- An internet connection is required for live provider searches and current data. Your Chartwell workspace and Library remain on your Mac.
- Other software
- No separate R, Python, Homebrew, repository checkout or terminal setup is required.
Install in three steps
- 1. Download
- Select “Download Mac App” above and open the downloaded DMG.
- 2. Install
- Drag Chartwell into the Applications folder shown in the installer window.
- 3. Open
- Launch Chartwell from Applications. The signed and notarized app creates its local workspace on first run.
What stays local
- Library
- Your Chartwell Library, backups, caches and logs live in your macOS user account—not inside the replaceable app. Installing a future version replaces only the app, so it will not overwrite your saved charts, Chart Packs or existing Library.
- Credentials
- Provider credentials are stored in macOS Keychain and are never bundled into the application or written to the Library.
- Exports
- Build PNG, SVG, CSV and PowerPoint outputs locally using the same chart definitions and provenance as the web product.
